Directors: Erica Mandato & Leigh Ann Cannady

The one question we’re asked more than anything else is, “What can I do to audition better?” This camp is designed to answer that question and help kids improve their audition skills. We’ll work on each of the three discplines of a musical theater audition: acting, singing and dancing with special emphasis on topics like choosing a monologue, song choice (How do you choose a song that fits your voice? How do you choose the best 16 or 32 bars? What does that even mean? How do you mark your music for an accompanist or choose a good karaoke track?), making a good overall impression at an audition, making strong choices during a cold read, how to effectively execute a winning choreography auditon and the list goes on and on! We’ll cover all of these topics and more and end the week on Thursday with a Broadway-style musical theater audition for immediate feedback from our panel. If you’ve ever struggled with auditioning, this is the week for you!
