**If your child is a 6th grader for the 2026-2027 school year, you can choose their age group. They may like being a “bigger fish” in the younger pond or they may be ready to be in a class with older students. You know them best, so we’ll let you decide. Reach out if we can help guide you in that decision…we’re happy to help!

Musical Theater Production:
Rock of Ages: Youth Edition

Are you a performer who loves high-energy music, big personalities, and an unforgettable story? Dust off your leg warmers and get ready to rock, because this is the show for them! Rock of Ages Youth Edition brings the electrifying energy of one of Broadway’s most beloved jukebox musicals to the stage — packed with iconic ’80s anthems and a whole lot of heart. No experience necessary, and all who enroll will be cast in the show!

It’s 1987 on the legendary Sunset Strip, and the Dupree Room — a beloved temple of rock ‘n’ roll — is in danger of being bulldozed. Enter Drew, a small-town dreamer chasing rock stardom, and Sherrie, a girl with big dreams of her own. When the two cross paths, it’s love at first sight — but fame, pressure, and the fight to save the Dupree Room threaten to tear everything apart. Packed with unforgettable hits from Journey, Bon Jovi, Poison, and more, Rock of Ages Youth Edition is a fun, feel-good musical that will have your audience on their feet and singing along all night long!

All students who enroll will be cast. (Auditions will be held the second week of class.) Tuition will be billed monthly from August through November and there is a $65 production fee due October 1st.

Musical Theater Production:
How to Train Your Dragon Jr

Are you a performer who loves big adventures, epic storytelling, and unforgettable characters? Based on the beloved DreamWorks Animation film, How to Train Your Dragon JR. brings fire-breathing action, sweeping adventure, and big laughs to the stage in this BRAND NEW Broadway Junior musical. No experience necessary, and all who enroll will be cast in the show!
 
Hiccup is a young Viking who has never quite fit in — but everything changes when he secretly befriends one of his world’s most feared creatures: a ferocious dragon he calls Toothless. What starts as an unlikely friendship quickly becomes something much bigger, as these two unlikely heroes must fight against the odds to save both their worlds. With a powerful message about courage, acceptance, and the friendships that change us forever, How to Train Your Dragon JR. is an exciting, heartfelt show that will thrill performers and audiences alike! All students who enroll will be cast. (Auditions will be held the second week of class.)

Play Production: The Hobbit

Open to students in 7th-12th grades
 
Step into a world of adventure, unlikely heroes, and epic quests in The Hobbit! In this exciting production-based class, students will bring J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved story to life as they follow Bilbo Baggins on a journey far beyond his comfort zone. Along the way, students will build strong acting skills, explore character development, and work as an ensemble to create a dynamic, story-driven performance. From trolls and goblins to riddles in the dark, this class is packed with imagination, humor, and heart. Perfect for teens who love fantasy, storytelling, and being part of a bold theatrical adventure, The Hobbit invites performers to take risks, find their voice, and discover the hero within.

Acting Up

Acting Up is one of FAPA’s most popular classes — and it’s a perfect fit for students who want to explore the craft of acting in a fun, low-pressure environment. Through creative acting games, improvisation, scenes, monologues, creative writing, and storytelling, students will sharpen their instincts, deepen their technique, and discover what it really means to own the stage. Whether you’re brand new to acting or a seasoned performer looking to level up your skills, this class meets you exactly where you are. Parents are invited to at least two showcases throughout the year to see what their performers have been working on.

Please note: Though we do follow Forsyth County Schools for school breaks, we WILL have class on January 4th due to the number of holidays that month.

Advanced Acting Up

Open to students in 7th-12th grades

Ready to take your acting to the next level? Advanced Acting Up is designed for students who are serious about the craft and ready to dig deeper. Building on the foundation of Acting Up, this class challenges students with more complex scene work, advanced improvisation, character development, and intensive monologue study — all in a collaborative, high-energy environment where great acting is both expected and celebrated. This is a space for students who are hungry to grow, willing to take risks, and ready to push themselves as performers.

Enrollment in Advanced Acting Up requires either one completed year of Acting Up at FAPA , Company Troupe membership or a qualifying audition. Please contact us for audition information. Parents are invited to at least two showcases throughout the year to experience the work these talented performers have been putting in.

Technical Theater Workshop

Open to students in 7th-12th grades

Ever wonder what goes into making the magic happen behind the scenes? This is the class for you! The Technical Theater Workshop gives students a hands-on, behind-the-curtain look at every element that brings a live production to life. From scenic design and set construction to lighting, sound, and stage management, students will work weekly alongside FAPA’s talented design staff to learn the craft from the ground up. Throughout the year, students will also have the opportunity to sign up to serve on the tech crew for our FAPA productions — putting their skills to work on real shows in front of real audiences. Whether you’re drawn to the creative side of design or the organized world of backstage operations, there’s a place for you in this class!

Tuesdays: 5:30-7pm
Tuition: $95/month
