Drop the kids off for a fun evening while you have some peace and quiet! Whether you’d like to get some shopping done, go on a date night, clean the house in peace or just take a nap, we’ve got you covered! We’ll have fun enjoying theater games, crafts and we’ll have a pizza dinner together! This event is open to all students ages 5-12! You do NOT need to be currently enrolled at FAPA in order to participate. Only $28 per student. We encourage the kids to wear their pjs!
Audition Announcement!
FAPA is thrilled to announce auditions for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee!! Please read the information below carefully for all of the details. The instructions for how to register for an audition is at the bottom of this information.
AUDITION INFO:
- Auditions are open to current 9th-12th grade students.
- Auditions will be held December 13th with time slots available at 5pm, 6pm 7pm and 8pm.
- Callbacks (if needed) are scheduled for Sunday, December 15th between 2pm and 4pm.
- Unfortunately not all who audition will be cast. This is a small show, so please come prepared with your best work!
- There is no need to prepare a monologue, but plan to participate in some cold readings and/or improv at the audition.
- Musically, please come please come with a 30-45 second audition cut of a musical theatre song either written by the composer of the show (William Finn) but not from Spelling Bee or a song in the style of the “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” and, more specifically, the style of character you are interested in. Please come with an accompaniment track. There will NOT be a live accompanist present. We have found the best way to bring your track:
- Find the track on YouTube (or whichever medium you are able to obtain the track from).
- Screen record the cut of the song you will be singing onto a personal device (smartphone, tablet, etc). This way you won’t have to fiddle through YouTube, find the starting point in the track, and hope the internet holds up in your audition.
- On audition day, come with the personal device and personal bluetooth speaker already hooked up to each other, so that you can come in for the audition, slate, and be ready to sing with minimal hassle and worry!

REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE INFORMATION:
- In general, rehearsals will be held on Monday and/or Tuesday evenings beginning January 7th. You can find our tentative rehearsal calendar HERE. Please review this calendar as we will ask for conflicts on your audition form.
- The performances will be held May 30th and 31st at FAPA. PLEASE NOTE: This is the latter part of Memorial Day week. Please ensure that your family will not be traveling during the performances before you audition.
- Not all who audition will be cast.
- The fee to participate in this production if cast is $325 with an additional Production Fee due May 1st. This includes all materials and instruction related to the production as well as a cast t-shirt for every actor.
IN ORDER TO SIGN UP FOR YOUR AUDITION:
- Please CLICK HERE to register for FAPA’s programming if you are not already a current or past student. (If you are a current or past student, you can log into your Parent Portal and follow the rest of these instructions.)
- After setting up your account, please select to enroll in the class 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Auditions. After we receive the confirmation of your enrollment, you will receive an email with the rehearsal schedule, the audition form and the link to sign up for a time slot.
- PLEASE NOTE: The registration will ask you for a credit card if we do not have one on file for your family. NOTHING WILL BE CHARGED TO YOUR CARD UNLESS YOU ARE CAST. There is no fee to audition. If you are cast, we will process that fee on January 6th.
