Happiness is great musical theatre! With charm, wit and heart, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown explores life through the eyes of Charlie Brown and his friends in the Peanuts gang. This revue of songs and vignettes, based on the beloved Charles Schulz comic strip, is filled with heart. Musical numbers include “My Blanket and Me,” “The Kite,” “The Baseball Game,” “Little Known Facts,” “Suppertime” and “Happiness.” You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a  classic musical theater piece designed for a small cast and we’re excited to delight audiences with this show in May!

Audition details:
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 21st UPDATE:

**Due to the potential for bad weather this weekend, we are taking our initial auditions virtual! Please send a video of your song and monologue to erica@forsythapa.com by 10pm on Saturday night, January 24th. And audition form will be sent to you to fill out after you submit your video, so please check your email!

**Potential callbacks will be moved to NEXT Saturday, January 31st from 10am-12pm.

  • In order to audition, please prepare and record:
    • A 1 minute musical theater song of your choice in a contemporary style
    • A 30 second monologue
  • Auditions are open to students currently in 9th-12th grades
  • Tentative call backs will be held on January 31st from 10am-12pm
  • There is no fee to audition. There is a $335 production fee if cast.

For your Song:
Please come with a 45-60 second cut of a musical theatre song either-
A. Written by the composer of the show (but not from YAGMCB) or B. In the style of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.  Basically, the idea is to pick a song from a different musical that fits the style of the character you are most interested in.

However, if you don’t have a character/characters you are specifically interested in, or you can’t find an appropriate song that fits your voice well, that’s okay! Sing something that is vocally comfortable, enjoyable to sing, and shows off the best parts of your voice!  An audition is all about making a great impression and showing off your strengths in a short presentation, and the best way to do so is with something you can have fun, be yourself, and show some character with!

Production details:

  • Performances will be held May 29th and 30th at FAPA.
  • A tentative rehearsal schedule can be found HERE
  • There is a one time production fee of $335 if cast.
