FAPA is thrilled to be back this summer with another adult community theater musical!
We will be holding auditions for all roles in Something Rotten.
Auditions are open to ALL ADULTS (17 and up) and will be held on March 29th. Please click the link below to schedule your audition time slot. Callbacks will be March 31st. Rehearsals will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and on a “called as needed basis”. Please CLICK HERE for a tentative rehearsal schedule. If you cannot attend auditions in person, virtual auditions will be accepted. Please email erica@forsythapa.com to secure your virtual audition spot!
For your audition:
- Please come with a 1 minute cut of a musical theatre song. Come with your accompaniment track pre-saved (all instrumental, no voices on the track). Preferably a piano-only accompaniment track, but, if you are unable to find one for your song, a regular instrumental track will work. There will NOT be a live accompanist present. For more info on your track, read below.
- Please come prepared to do cold readings from the script and for a short movement/dance combination.
Questions? Reach out to director, Erica Turner: erica@forsythapa.com
Tips on your accompaniment track:
- Find the track on YouTube (or whichever medium you are able to obtain the track from).
- Screen record the cut of the song you will be singing onto a personal device (smartphone, tablet, etc). OR download the track using a YouTube to MP3 conversion software and trim the track using GarageBand or a similar track. This way you won’t have to fiddle through YouTube, find the starting point in the track, and hope the internet holds up in your audition.
- On audition day, come with the personal device and personal bluetooth speaker already hooked up to each other, so that you can come in for the audition, slate, and be ready to sing with minimal hassle and worry!
