We’re thrilled to announce auditions for Oklahoma! Youth Edition at FAPA. Auditions are open to students ages 13-18 and will be held August 11th with potential callbacks on August 13th from 6-8pm. Rehearsals will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7-9:15pm beginning September 15th (for a list of specific dates, please check the audition form below). If you are needed for callbacks you will receive an email with information to prepare by August 12th at 5pm. Just because you do not receive a callback does NOT mean you are not cast!! The final cast list will be emailed no later than August 14th at 5pm.
Performances of Oklahoma will be held February 19th and 20th at FAPA
There is a monthly tuition fee of $125 for September-February for students cast in this production.
What to prepare:
- Please prepare a 60 second audition cut of a musical theater song either a) written by the composers of the show (Rodgers & Hammerstein), but not from Oklahoma OR b) a song in the style of Oklahoma and, more specifically, in the style of the character you’re interested in. Please bring an accompaniment track for your audition. See the notes at the bottom of this page for more info.
- Please also prepare one of the monologues listed HERE
- Students should also come prepared to move for a short dance audition. There is nothing to prepare in advance.
BEFORE Your Audition:
- Please sign up for a time slot below.
- Please fill out the Audition Form below. (Students who have not filled out the audition form will not be permitted to audition.)
Tips on your accompaniment track:
- Find the track on YouTube (or whichever medium you are able to obtain the track from).
- Screen record the cut of the song you will be singing onto a personal device (smartphone, tablet, etc). OR download the track using a YouTube to MP3 conversion software and trim the track using GarageBand or a similar track. This way you won’t have to fiddle through YouTube, find the starting point in the track, and hope the internet holds up in your audition.
- On audition day, come with the personal device and personal bluetooth speaker already hooked up to each other, so that you can come in for the audition, slate, and be ready to sing with minimal hassle and worry!
